Caring to make a difference for people with autism

Children and Young People's Services in West Sussex

We are now supporting approximately 100 children and young people on a regular basis across West Sussex. This growth has been very exciting for Autism Sussex and has allowed us to establish financially healthy and successful services.

We are always very interested to hear the views of the children we support and their families to help us continually review, improve and develop both our existing and new services in line with what people want. To give us your views us about services - click here

The way we work

With more than 15 years experience in this field, we can work with you to provide a responsive and positive service for children and young people with an Autistic spectrum condition and associated complex needs

To make sure we have the skills needed to work effectively, all staff receive regular supervision and attend extensive training, covering topics such as Safeguarding children, Autism Focus, Communication, Behaviour Support, Sensory Issues and Positive Interventions.

Services are planned in a person centred way; we will work closely with you and your child, fully involving you in the planning and regular reviews of the support provided.

Admissions

How you access support

To request a referral you need to post or email a completed Preliminary Application Children Form to us, please download this form at the bottom of this page.

If you have any difficulties completing the form, we are happy to help.

Once we have received your form, a manager will contact you to discuss the kind of support you would like.

If you then decide to take the application forward and we feel that we can provide the support you need, we will carry out an assessment. This means that we will meet with the child/young person, relevant family members and professionals to discuss needs and ways to support.
