Children in Need have awarded a grant to Autism Sussex for a CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE’S COORDINATOR. This exciting opportunity has arisen for to help continue the growth and delivery of our Children and Young People’s groups and outreach service across East Sussex specifically in the Hastings and Rother Area.
Children & Young People’s Coordinator
Fixed term - 3 Year Funded Post 30 hours a week.
Salary: £23,310 per annum (£18,900 pro rata)
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has the drive and motivation to deal with the demands of this role.
You will ideally have experience in creating and delivering activities in the community as well as experience in managing and supervising a small team, delivering an excellent outreach service to our client group and their families. Full training will be given. You will ideally have a full driving licence and access to a car or be able to demonstrate how you would meet the travel requirements of the role.
Responsibilities include managing and developing Children and Young People’s groups as well as working closely with families/carers and professionals.
This position includes evening and weekend work.

The successful candidates will be dynamic, innovative and passionate about developing excellent projects/services, and will have:
• Experience in running structured/themed group-sessions with outcomes geared towards developing skills and independence
• Management/supervisory experience
• Ability to set up/develop projects
• Ability to manage a busy, fast-paced environment
• Experience in working with vulnerable people with Autism or other social or communication difficulties
• Some flexible working
• A full driver’s licence and access to a car
• A relevant management, teaching or an NVQ level 4 or equivalent qualification related to working with people with special needs is desirable.
The activities to be developed by the Project Managers will include adult and children’s groups, themed workshops, parents’ and siblings’ groups, and 1:1 work with individuals and families.
