Autism Sussex is an independent, not for profit organisation and registered charity, whose aim is to provide a range of opportunities for children, young people and adults with autistic spectrum conditions and/or Asperger syndrome.
Autism Sussex provides a range of services which are autism-friendly, individualistic, structured, predictable and
low-arousal, which ensures that service users are better able to manage their anxieties, stress and social interactions more successfully.
Autism is a lifelong developmental disability. It is part of the autism spectrum and is sometimes referred to as an autistic spectrum condition, or an ASC. The word 'spectrum' is used because, while all people with autism share three main areas of difficulty, their condition will affect them in very different ways. Some are able to live relatively 'everyday' lives; others will require a lifetime of specialist support.
